A Brand New Year!

2014 is off and running. If you're anywhere in my vicinity that has meant snow--a lot of it. Which of course calls for warm blankets, hot drinks and plenty of good reads.

If you have been away on vacation, I counted down my favorites list at the end of December. You can see my thoughts on covers & first lines, audiobooks, debuts and overall favorite reads. Also last week, I kicked off the new year with a blog hop and a chance for you to win a copy of Hilary Davidson's upcoming standalone novel, BLOOD ALWAYS TELLS.

At the end of each year, I look back on the blog and see where the highs and lows were. Take note of what I enjoyed and what others seemed to enjoy. Then think about the direction I want the blog to go in the upcoming year.

Well, next week will mark 6 years of Jen's Book Thoughts. It simply doesn't feel like it's been that long. And to be honest, it gets harder each year to come up with new and innovated ideas for the blog. But I'm never at a shortage of books to read and discuss. So I'll keep pluggin' away at the new ideas and continue reading.

In the mean time, I'm working on more Five on Friday posts, so look for that series to continue. I'm continuing to scout out more YA books that will be appropriate for the blog. And we'll have more on the audiobook front as well. I'm brainstorming some fun contests and considering a special feature for the summer. So stay tuned and as ideas strike me, I'll test the waters. But my "resolution"--if you can call it that--is simply to continue with the focus that I've always had: promoting reading and great books.

Thanks for coming along for the ride, friends! Here's to a 2014 full of great reads.

And, that's what I love about you and your blog, Jen. You're always out there pushing reading and good books. Hugs from one of your biggest fans, even though I don't comment here as often as I should. Good reading in 2014!
