Merry Christmas!

To all my reading friends who are celebrating this holiday, I wish you a very merry Christmas! I hope you find all your favorite books wrapped under your tree or stuffed in your stockings. I also hope you take this opportunity to encourage the love of reading with those you share your holiday with.

For those who don't observe the holiday, I wish you a wonderful day as well. I hope you get some reading time in. If you're in an environment like me, you'll probably want to be inside snuggled up on your sofa or favorite chair with a good book and hot beverage. Brrrrrr, it's definitely winter! This is the time of year I'm so grateful that my cats like to snuggle on my lap. They provide a bit of extra warmth!

I'll be starting my favorites lists tomorrow, so I hope you'll check back between now and New Years as I run down my favorite debuts, my favorite audios, my favorite book covers and first lines, and of course my overall favorite books.

A few tidbits to share if you haven't already heard about them. I posted this news to Facebook last week. So happy for Robert Crais and Maggie. I'm sure I'll nitpick once it's made, but if it helps more people discover the greatness that is Robert Crais crime fiction, I'll be happy!

If you're in the market for a web-based job dealing with genre fiction, you may want to check out this job posting I mentioned on Facebook last week.

There are still a couple days left that you can enter this contest to win a trip to Florida to see Lisa Unger and Michael Connelly. (Perhaps a good use of Christmas gift cards to the bookstore?)

There's also still time to enter this sweepstakes for a slew of Cool Deeds crime fiction.

And while you probably don't need last minute gift ideas at this point (or maybe you still do), I'm getting some ideas about contests in 2014 from this project. Too cute!

O.k. I won't take up anymore of your holiday time. Go be with your family, with your friends, with your new books. I just wanted to pop a short post up and say Merry Christmas. Thank you for the gift you give me year round of connecting with me in this vast blogosphere...and sharing books! Happy Reading!
