Odds and Ends...This and That

It's been awhile since we had an odds and ends post. The days just seem to be getting away from me, it seems. So it's long overdue to look at various things around the web.

First,a hearty congratulations goes out to Kaye B. who is the winner of Hilary Davidson's new novel, THE NEXT ONE TO FALL. I'm quite confident Kaye will love it! Kaye also happens to be the blogger at Meaderings and Muses, so be sure to stop by and congratulate her!

Next, Tyrus Books is running a special promotion for ereader owners. "First one is free" works to introduce you to series you may not have tried before, by giving you the first book free. Each week a new book will be available free through through all retailers. This week the featured title is PROVINCETOWN FOLLIES, BANGKOK BLUES by Randall Peffer, so check it out!

Don't forget to continue nominating your favorite heroes and villains. The nominations are coming in and the villains are needing some love. I've noticed a few biggies missing from the nominations list and am a bit surprised. So, get your nominations in and tell your friends to nominate as well. We need to fill up that tourney bracket!

If you're a Robert Ludlum fan, you'll want to check out the official new website that went live last week. And there's an official Robert Ludlum Facebook page as well. Grand Central is working to keep everyone apprised of the upcoming releases from the Ludlum estate. The Janson Command is the newest release. I recently finished The Ares Decision, which is part of the Covert One series. I'll have a review of that soon. They also happen to be doing a Goodreads giveaway, so if you're a Goodreads member, you can enter for a chance to win a copy of The Janson Command.

In other pretty cool giveaway news, Criminal Element has a sweepstakes going on where you can win both of Paul Grossman's Willi Krauss books in hardcover. That ends on Tuesday, though, so you'll need to enter quickly there.

The Barry Award nominations and the Agatha Award nominations have come out. Many congrats to the nominees for those two awards. I won't repost all the nominees here as they are already in many places around the web. You can see the nominees for the Barry's here and the Agatha's here.

I'm sure I'm forgetting several things I meant to share, my brain is fried these days. I am reading two fantastic books you'll hear about soon, though, THE BLIND SPY and THE TECHNOLOGISTS. What are you reading that's really good?

Jen, Thank You!!!! I am over the moon about winning Hilary's new book! I know I'll love it as much as I did her first. She's quite a talent.

Sending hugs to you AND to Hilary.
